Partition “ is a song recorded by american singer Beyoncé for her self-titled one-fifth studio album released in 2013. Ryan B. Patrick of Exclaim! noted that songs in the vein of “ Partition ” efficaciously display music genre diversity, Beyoncé ‘s outspoken compass and “ a preference of musical experiment ”. [ 44 ] “ Partition ” became Beyoncé ‘s tenth number-one on the US Hot R & B/Hip-Hop Airplay graph, extending her read for the most leaders among women. The television for “ Yoncé ” was directed by Ricky Saiz, and features fashion and television models Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn and Joan Smalls. [ 1 ] [ 59 ] Filming took place on the streets of Brooklyn, New York. [ 60 ] The director wanted to add “ a crude, kind of lo-fi, very New York kind of begrimed, blue aesthetic ” to the video. [ 61 ] Through the clip, Beyoncé introduces viewers to her new change self Yoncé, whose preferences include Brooklyn, her grill, and “ being the hottest female child in the golf club ”. [ 59 ] [ 61 ] Beyoncé was inspired by the visuals of the 1990 David Fincher -directed video for George Michael ‘s “ Freedom “ and she conceptualized of a “ contemporaneous, street version ” of the clip for “ Yoncé ”.
