James Arthur ( hold 2 March 1988 ) is an english singer and songwriter. He rose to fame after winning the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. Arthur was born on 2 March 1988 [ 5 ] to an english beget, Shirley Ashworth, and a scottish forefather, Neil Arthur. A Middlesbrough alternate rock dance band made up of Arthur ( vocals, guitar ), Josh Brown ( keyboards, vocals ), Matthew Green ( guitar ), Alex Beer ( bass, vocals ), Travis Shaw ( guitar, percussions, vocals ) and Karl Dowson ( drums ). 2011–2012 : Sins by the Sea and The X Factor [edit ]
